PhotoBiotics Ltd announced today that it has entered into a funded collaboration and option agreement with a top-5 pharma company.

This will explore the benefits of PhotoBiotics’ unique proprietary OptiLink antibody-drug conjugation (ADC) platform in a new indication. Further details were not disclosed.

"This is an important endorsement for PhotoBiotics," Dr Till Medinger, PhotoBiotics’ chairman added, "We are delighted to be working with a pharma giant and look forward to seeing the benefits of our unique ADC technology for targeted imaging and therapy being applied in additional indications".

About PhotoBiotics

PhotoBiotics, a spin-out company from Imperial College London, has developed and patented OptiLink, a unique yet simple conjugation platform that optimises the multiple attachment of drugs to antibody fragments. This allows drugs to be precisely targeted, enhancing efficacy and selectivity, with the prospect of developing breakthrough products for therapy and diagnostic imaging across multiple indications, and tackling substantial unmet medical needs.  These products are known as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and are particularly relevant in today’s market, especially as the era of personalised medicines is becoming a reality. The application of PhotoBiotics’ technology is leading to better, safer drugs.
