Retired in 1986. In 1991 co-founded Helms Brown and Company, a two-man company which has arranged over $1 billion in tax-oriented structured finance.

Chairman of the General Partner of the Combined London Colleges University Challenge LP. The LP provides seed money for start-ups from UCL, LBS, Kings and Queen Mary Colleges
